I am going to be 6 months pregnant (with twins!!!) during the 30yc. I would like to go, as comfortably as possible!!! My persona can be flexible for a range of time periods. Any suggestions on appropriate clothes?? Simple to make please, since I won't be needing them to last a lifetime or win any awards..... TIA Carrie (

) Eugene, Oregon Italian Ren dresses with the high bodice and full shirt, with a lightweigfht cotton chemise underneath to keep you cool. With some advance planning, you can make the bodice lace up on either side of the front and having nursing garb as well for after the babies are born (twins! wow!) I also used full tunic-_style_ dresses with gores that started under the arms rather than at the hips when I was pregnant; the Greenlander dress is a perfect design for this as well, since the gores down the sides and in the front and back allow you to add fullness. A cyclas (an early version of the sideless surcoat) or even a later version sideless would also work well. Go for lightweight breathable fabrics and go for comfort. Best of luck! Orianna

While it would have been work over another, fancier dress (as opposed to just the chemise) it is still vaguely authentic, and doesn't require much fabric. Quick to sew, too.

This is accurate and makes sense. Baroness Myscell, my lady, that is, wore chemises, and a thin Byzantine like creation. But you have to remember that your comfort is as or more important than looking great. Dress so that you can move! TYC was at turns, hot, wet, sticky, and muddy. Distances to classes and other points of interest were great, and walking is hard when you are carrying 2 along for the ride. Be careful and you'll have a good time.
